By Car: Those who wish to see the area on their own schedule often choose to drive to Seventeen Seventy. The town is accessible by the Bruce Highway and is situated around 480 kilometres north of Brisbane. From Brisbane, the trip takes about six hours.

By Bus: Greyhound and Premier Motor Service are only two of the bus companies that run services to Agnes Waters and Seventeen Seventy from Brisbane. Online reservations for tickets are available, and the trip lasts about 9 to 10 hours.

Via plane: Bundaberg Airport, located about 90 kilometres south of the town, is the biggest airport that is close to Seventeen Seventy and Agnes Waters. You can either rent a car or take a shuttle bus from this location to Agnes Waters. Alternatively, 120 km drive north of Seventeen Seventy is Gladstone Airport, where you can fly instead.

By Train: Both Seventeen Seventy and Agnes Waters lack a train station. Bundaberg Railway Station, located around 110 kilometres to the south of Seventeen Seventy and Agnes Waters, is the closest train station. To go to Seventeen Seventy from here, you can take a bus or hire a car.
